Application for the NCKU College of Social Sciences Student Competition Awards-Spring Semester 2026 (Application Deadline: June 5, 2026)
To encourage students to develop their academic interests and enhance learning outcomes, the College of Social Sciences at National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) announces the Student Competition Awards for students who have participated in or achieved outstanding performance in professional competitions or related activities at the international, national, university, or college level.
Details are as follows:
1. Eligibility
Students of the College of Social Sciences at all levels who participated in professional competitions or demonstrated outstanding performance between December 1, 2025, and May 30, 2026 are eligible to apply.
Both individual and team competitions are eligible; however, applications must be submitted individually.
2. Funding Source
The awards are funded by the 2026 Spring Semester Higher Education Sprout Project Budget of the College of Social Sciences, with a total amount of NT$22,500 available for distribution.
3. Application Deadline
Applications are accepted from the date of this announcement until 5:00 PM on June 5, 2026 (Friday).

4. Required Documents
Applicants must submit the following materials:
(1)Application Form (Attachment 1)
(2)Official competition guidelines or regulations
(3)Supporting documents demonstrating participation or awards (e.g., certificates, trophies), along with 1–2 photos from the competition or event venue
Applications without supporting documentation will not be eligible for the award.
5. Review Process
A review committee, chaired by the Dean of the College of Social Sciences and composed of department and institute heads within the college, will review applications and determine weighted points and award amounts.
6. Award Criteria
Students who participate in or receive recognition in professional competitions during the eligible period will be awarded points according to the following criteria:
Recognition in international professional competitions – 10 points
Recognition in national professional competitions – 8 points
Recognition in NCKU-level professional competitions – 6 points
Recognition in department- or college-level professional competitions – 4 points
Participation in international or national professional competitions without receiving an award – 2 points
Points may be accumulated across multiple competitions, and the final award amount will be calculated proportionally based on the total available funding.
In special circumstances, the review committee reserves the right to make the final decision regarding point allocation.
Notes (from the Application Form)
Note 1
Some competitions have longer timelines. As long as the competition end date or award announcement date falls within the eligible period, the application may be submitted.
Note 2: Explanation of Number of Participating Teams
If the competition has multiple rounds, please indicate the number of participating teams in each round and your ranking in sequence.
If the competition includes multiple categories, please indicate the number of teams and ranking within that specific category, rather than the overall totals.
Note 3
If the award is granted automatically upon submission or upon meeting certain conditions (for example, completing a required number of transactions in a financial trading competition), please clearly indicate this information to facilitate the evaluation process.
