【Announcement】 Campus Safety Precautions during Winter vacation 2026 (Faculty and Staff)

Dear colleagues,

The winter vacation is approaching. In order to maintain campus security, the Campus Security Center reiterates the importance of strengthening the campus security inspection mechanism, implementing various security measures and improving the overall welfare of the campus. During the winter vacation, the campus security work should not be relaxed, so the following related safety precautions should be followed:

1. Strengthening access control: Please check laboratories, research rooms, offices, and long-term unoccupied spaces, and close and lock doors and windows to ensure the safety of the property.

2. Electricity safety: All units are requested to inspect various power-consuming devices and carry out maintenance, with a focus on old wiring. High-consumption appliances should be plugged directly into the building’s electrical outlets rather than using extension cords to prevent fires caused by overloading. If extension cords are to be used, they should have passed a qualified inspection and be insured. All units must strengthen the management and maintenance of their offices, classrooms, research rooms, and laboratories. For rooms that will not be used for an extended period of time, unnecessary power supplies and outlets must be turned off before leaving.

3.Maintenance of experimental site: During the winter vacation, in all laboratories and workplaces, please ensure that water, electricity, and gas are thoroughly checked and turned off if not in use. Please also note that other vulnerable items, waste liquids, chemicals, high pressure gas cylinders, various mechanical equipment, etc. should be checked, securely placed and safely stored to avoid damage, leakage or sudden movement of mechanical equipment due to earthquake collision or accidental release of energy.

4.Ensure smooth communication channels: Please review each unit’s emergency contact information before winter vacation. During winter vacation, keep your cell phone connected 24 hours a day so you can contact and coordinate in case of an emergency.

5.School Housing safety: The house may become a target for thieves because some residents may go abroad for further study, travel or visit their families for a long time. Colleagues who live in the residential area should pay attention to door management and repair doors and windows in time to improve anti-theft measures.

6. Personal belongings theft prevention: Please take your personal valuables with you wherever you go (department, library, dormitory, library, and playground). If you need to exercise or leave your seat temporarily, please ask someone to take care of them.

7.Watch out for suspicious people: As there are few students on campus during the winter vacation, if you see any suspicious persons (theft, open shooting, fraud), please report immediately to the department, building, police station, military education office for assistance.

8.Safety of students staying in school: Please remind students to avoid staying alone in the classroom, arriving at school too early, or leaving school too late. They should walk together or be accompanied by family whenever possible, and never walk through dark alleys, sparsely populated areas, or dangerous places.

9.Contact Channel in Crisis or Accidents: Please visit the school website regularly for the latest school news and announcements. Teachers may contact the school’s Safety Center at 06-2757575 ext. 55555 (24-hour hotline) for assistance in the event of a crisis or accident during the winter vacation.
