2025 Fall – NCKU College of Social Sciences Student Competition Award Application

Application period: Now until December 5, 2025

To encourage students to cultivate academic interest and enhance learning outcomes, the College of Social Sciences announces the following award scheme for students who participate in professional-related competitions (domestic or international, on- or off-campus) or demonstrate outstanding performance.

1. Eligibility

Students of the College of Social Sciences who participated in professional-related competitions or received awards between June 1, 2025 and December 1, 2025.
Applications are submitted individually, regardless of whether the competition was entered individually or as a group.

Note: Considering that some competitions span longer periods, as long as the competition end date or award date falls within the application period, students are eligible.

2. Funding Source

NTD 33,000 from the College of Social Sciences’ “Higher Education Sprout Project Budget” for the 2025–Fall semester.

3. Application Deadline

From today until 5:00 PM, December 5, 2025 (Friday).

4. Required Documents

(1)Application form (downloadable at the bottom of the webpage).

(2)Competition guidelines of the event you participated in.

(3)Proof of participation or award, such as certificates or trophies, and 1–2 photos taken at the competition venue.

Applications without supporting documents will not be eligible for the award.

5. Review Process

The review committee is chaired by the Dean of the College and consists of six department/institute-level supervisors. The committee will evaluate applications, determine weighted scores, and allocate award amounts.

6. Award Criteria

Weighting points will be assigned according to the type of competition and performance. All awarded items may be accumulated and calculated proportionally based on total funding.

Category / Points
Participation in an international professional competition with recognition  /  10 points
Participation in a domestic professional competition with recognition  /  8 points
Participation in an NCKU professional competition with recognition  /  6 points
Participation in a College/Department professional competition with recognition  /  4 points
Participation in a domestic or international professional competition without recognition  /  2 points

In special cases, the review committee reserves the right to make the final determination on the weighting.
